DID YOU KNOW
The role of phones in distracted driving injuries and deaths gets a lot of attention and rightly so, but we need to also consider the danger phone use poses to pedestrians.
Walking and talking on the phone is extremely dangerous because you can’t see the path in front of you!
The danger is amplified when pedestrians walk in busy areas with a lot of traffic.
In addition, people who deviate from a straight path while walking in a pedestrian environment are more likely to wander into traffic, onto train tracks and most commonly, falling down stairs facing a potential serious injury and maybe even death.
